Strengthening Water Quality Testing in Rural Areas: The Water Quality Assurance Fund

Summary

Access to safe drinking water is a significant challenge in rural Africa, where more than two-thirds of the population is exposed to contaminated water. The absence of regular water quality testing exacerbates this issue, putting communities at risk of health problems. The Water Quality Assurance Fund program addresses this gap by incentivizing urban labs to conduct water quality tests for rural water systems through financial support. By bridging the urban-rural divide, this initiative ensures that even remote communities can access reliable testing services, ultimately safeguarding public health and promoting water equity. Join us on this journey as we explore the transformative impacts of the Water Quality Assurance Fund in Ghana and Kenya.
